Aladzha Rock Monastery
Aladzha Rock Monastery is one of the hundreds mediaeval (13-14 centuries) rock monasteries found in the North East part of Bulgaria. The monastery is located amidst lush greenery creating a mysterious atmosphere. The premises of the monastery are arranged on two levels and have been cut in an almost 40 meters high sheer limestone rock. Once the monastery was reached only by means of stairs which in case of danger could be withdrawn. |
