Bozhentsi
 Bozhentsi was probably founded by a noble-woman and her nine sons after the fall of Bulgaria under Ottoman domination in 14 century. Like many other refugees they found refuge in the high mountain slopes. Craft industry and trade developed greatly in 18 century. The wealthy merchants and craftsmen built spacious houses decorated with woodcarvings. Over a 100 houses are declared architectural museums. |
